when i accelerate past 3200 rpm, i can here the leek. i checked the boots on the fmic and they are fine. the sound did come after i went fmic. i had the stock bov and recently changed it with an APS bov. what could it be coming from.

Its more than likely not a leak rather the increased air flow from your FMIC.

    Wooooooooooooooooooooooooosssssh!

i could hear a pretty loud whistling sound that kinda sounded like a supercharger after i changed to a greddy rs bov..i uninstalled it and it fixed the problem and i put the bov back on a few months later and didnt have the problem..i dont know anything about tmic's but i would check the bov if i were you

Did this happen before or after you did the bov? I know the HKS SSQ sometimes sounds like a supercharger on spool up depending which tip you have.

Otherwise I would say its the belts

no it happened after i went with a fmic. when i went for a test drive after installing it. it may be from increased airflow? would anybody recommend upgrading my uppipe, to solve the problem?

You don't use a y pipe with a front mount do you?

No, no y pipe with a fmic. Does it sound really loud? Like a squirrel on helium getting squeezed by the world's strongest man? If so then its a leak around or from the bov more than likely.

Lol, I totally misread his post and thought he was talking about adding a bigger y pipe. My mistake. Just check for leaks and if everything is okay, just get used to the sound.

if you had a leak at the bov you would not have boost...are you loosing power?

Not true, I had a BPV that was leaking that still made boost. You could hear the turbo working like it should be at full boost, then like a light switch full boost would come on. I swaped out the BPV and it fixed the problem.

it cant be from the bov i just changed it to an aps with a gasket. no i gained power, its not loud, i guess im going to double check the boots. or just get use to it. plus i got it to were its a 240 killer now. lol.

I use 2 gaskets on the bov when I do mine. It helped seal better for some reason. I had a similar issue and using 2 NEW gaskets made the sound go away. The other thing is you will hear your turbo more with a bar and plate intercooler....not sure if it is the design, but I can hear the turbo spooling much more now than when I had the stock intercooler.

my recir line was leaking on my greddy rs bov and it caused the sound

You can disagree all you want. I took logs with the leaky BPV and the one that is on the car now. Just changing BPV netted me 500RPM before I had full boost. Can you explain what else would ahve caused this but a leaky BPV? All hoses were checked for leaks and none were found.
