So far I only have a downpipe upgrade. My goal at the end is to get to near 300AWHP.

    How can I get there?

Should I change to VF39+sti TMIC? If I do this, what else do I need to change in the car to support it? Like will my stock 06 injectors be able to feed it? I see a lot of people upgrade Solenoids, will I have to? So let me know all the things I need to upgrade on my 06 to support it.

Or can I get a TBE and intake and whatever else, not turbo or tmic, and hit 300AWHP?

    Which way is safer?
    Which way is cheaper?

I know if I put a turbo on, I'll have to change the ECU or I won't be able to drive the car very well, anyone have a map for openECU? :)

I'm looking around on all the boards, this, iwsti, clubwrx, and fleabay for turbo and tmic. If anyone knows any hook ups,PM me plz.

    Thanks for all the answers.

probly gonna have to change the ECU regardless. your not gonna get any more horsepower just by slapping stuff on (not useable/safe horsepower anyways). i don't wanna tell you what else to get, cuz i'm not keen on the 2.5's. I know with the 2.0's a turbo swap is pretty much a must to get those kinda numbers. just make sure u get a protune and you will be ok.

Ive got a STi TMIC for sale if you are interested...

In all honesty, to make a nicely balanced car, go with the vf39, sti or better tmic, tbe & tune. There's really no need for an intake on these cars.

    vf39: 200-300
    sti tmic: 300ish
catback (since you have downpipe): 400-800
    tuning: 300+
cobb ap: ~700 (or buy used)
    perrin ebcs: <100

VF39+sti TMIC and fuel pump should get you close. The injectors on the 06 are fine for a vf39.

What you really have to ask yourself is this, Is 300whp really your goal or just a step in the quest for more?

I have had 6 turbos, 3 different short blocks, 2 transmissions, 3 different intercoolers, 3 different sets of injectors and 2 types of engine management.

If I had just gone big right out of the gate I would have saved a lot of money. Instead I was like you.

All I wanted was 250whp then it was 300, 350, 400 and the latest is 500. Which sadly I am already becoming aclimated to. It may be time to up the exhaust housing on my current turbo.

Alex, I'd be interested in getting a price on that TMIC man. Also, I'm thinking of using openECU so I can use the money on a good catback. and is that perrin boost controllers? ebcs? and I am hoping Scott can tune with openECU and my brokeass laptop. Ok I can prolly get a lender laptop.

I need find a vf39, but everyone of them with less then 10k miles are going for like $450. Anything higher and I'm not all that trusting it wasn't too abused. Donno.

LF, man I will have my gf slap me if I get the itch for more power at that point. I wish I could have gotten an StI out from the start and if I had waited like 3-4 more months I could have saved enough for it. Oh well, hind sight is crap.
