Ok we actually have a gas station that sales this at the pump. I was wondering im running the cobb stage 2 93 oct map if i was to run the 101 would there be a noticable difference or is it just a waste of money. A few of my friends say all i do is make more afterfire and i have enough of that already.
if your car isn't tuned to take advantage of it, then it won't make a difference. its like if your car is made to run at 89 and you use 93, you're wasting $
i think if u run much higher octane than what ur car is tuned for, u might actually end up losing power since it would burn slower than desired
I would have to aggree with everyone. With out tuning of the ignition, fuel, and boost there will be no diffrence. I suggest going to topspeed and have them tune car for cobb access port.
If your car is tuned for 93 the timing is set for that octane. Oh the days of mechanical timing when you could just use a screw driver and some guages (sigh)
I picked up a little HP and Tq using ~107 on a 93 map, maybe 5 hp and tq. This was just a base line prior to tuning fo the 107. Tuning made me 30 hp and 60 ft-lbs on a stock vf39. If you go to a strip or track, running a higher oct than what your tuned for will give you a little more det resistance which ain't bad.
