Anybody going to be at this show? Two killer GA metal bands at the Masquerade. Baroness just released the Blue Record which is arguably the best metal album of 2009. I think this is the metal CD that Jimi Hendrix would have recorded if he somehow got hold of modern effects pedals. Heres the video to their song "A Horse Called Golgoltha" one of my least favorite songs on the album, but the one that will capture every Mastodon fan in the country. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qii59-7JAM You can stream most of the CD on their myspace page here. I like 'Swollen and Halo' and 'My Sweetest Curse' most but the rest of the CD is outstanding http://www.myspace.com/yourbaroness And Torche is also playing. They're an odd combination of pop punk vocals with obscenely heavy guitars. Think older Blink but way louder and bassier. Here's a video but this is the lightest song on the CD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xgvqEJstNrw http://www.myspace.com/torche Pig Destroyer is opening. I dont know much about them but they've got a fuckin metal name and I hear they play sick doom metal.
Word. Justin, Baroness was the band I was telling you about at the turkey fry, not quite like Dream Theater but talented in their own regards. Google parties at Tongue and Groove? Yet again I'm jealous of the neverending perks of your job. I may be rockin this one solo, my friends that were wanting to go all are busy this friday.
