I am interested in finding out more about the 91-94 legacy turbo block.
are they easy to find I know they fit wrx heads, but does te coolant still flow to the right places. does it take a lower volume of coolant, does it require a higher volume oil pump?
what gaskets make the block mated with wrx heads have the 8:1 compression. due to the larger bore does the bowl shape change as in smaller cutout on hte heads for smaller cylinders?
can a block be found for cheap. for a daily driver can the block handle about 20 psi day in day out. If you are going to tell me to do a search, please dont bother. I have treid different combinations of searches and have not really come up with many answers.
also do the intake and exhaust manifolds bolt right up when keeping 8:1 compression how ever that is done
any other info would be greatly appreciated
    thanks,
    Kevin

Oh yeah, they have a closed deck and i believe they have piston oil squirters.

i highly doubt the legacy's in pull-a-part are turbos. your best bet for heads is to go with the dohc set up from a late 90's legacy or 2.5 RS, you will keep the stock compression and the heads flow as well as the WRX heads. WRX heads bolt up but lower the compression down to 7.3 to 1 or something else very low, it wouldnt be a very fun daily driver. the weak point of the motor is the pistons, they are cast, i do believe they will hold 20 PSI with not much problem though. If you go much higher you will probably need new forged pistons.

EDIT: i believe the NA 2.2 blocks out of the L model are not closed deck

Legacy Non Turbo Blocks are open deck, Legacy Turbo Blocks are closed deck, they are pretty hard to find. You need a legacy turbo oilpump, it flows more. I probally wouldnt bother with it if I wasnt going to build the motor. The rods are weak and so are the pistons. Building the motor is expensive. If you still want to do it I have a two spare blocks in my basement.

Yes, I just end up with stuff like that, dont ask me how. I'm sure I could hook you up with one if you need it. Ill have to find what I paid for it because I honestly dont remember.
