    fuji-bond sealant

    intake manifod to heads gasket.
2 o-rings for the coolant crossover pipe
    4 cam seals

    timing belt
    timing belt tensioner

    oil pump
    oil pump seal
    oil pump o-ring

    water pump
    water pump gasket
    thermostat and gasket

    valve cover gaskets
optional: seals for valve cover bolts

lower and upper up pipe gasket
    downpipe gasket
    exhaust manifold to heads gasket

STI headgaskets or thicker RS 2.5 gaskets. With a stock sti block and wrx heads I would use the RS gaskets. If you have upgraded pistons I would use the STI gaskets.

New stock headbolts. I have reused mine 3 times now and have had no issues but I always tell other people to get new ones. They are plenty tough and easier to get the torque right also you don't have to go back and retighten them. I have never heard of anyone having issues with the stockers even in high power cars like dlowman's.

this is all I can think of right now. I'll add more as I remember.

This is getting more and more appealing to me. The more and more I talk with SS about it, the more I am leaning towards doing this.

The only complaint with the 18g I have is the low end is lacking until the turbo kicks in in the high 3000 rpm range (3600-3800). Around town I find myself downshifting a lot wishing I had fast spool and a little low end grunt. From what SS told me the 2.5L will spool that 18g almost like stock and I will gain a bit more hp but gobs of more torque. When I do the swap I am doing PPG gears as well.

Liquid was this the case for you in the 2.5L swap. Can you post what the most significant improvements were in doing the swap?

Spool and peak torque is the main change.

I only picked up 10 more whp up top but I gained 50 ftlbs of torque when I first went with the 2.5. Essentially my whole powerband shifted to the left 1k RPMS. With the vf34 it was all over by 6k rpms.

I also used sti head gaskets so I had higher compression. Off boost it drove like a decent NA motor.

    Unfortunately I don't have a before dyno from the 2.0 but it was 265hp and 255tq on Knowledge's Dyno-Pack

With the excat same setup this is what it looked like with the 2.5

Sweet EXACTLY what I am wanting. A powerband that starts 1000rpm sooner and insta spool. I think the td05 18g is gonna fall a bit up top past 6250 rpm but it'll be time to shift anyways. I shift when racing at that rpm to help keep the turbo in it's max powerband. The 18g is a bit bigger CFM flow wise than the VF34 so I think it'll be fun! I'm no longer looking for a power beast as I have already proved that. Now looking for useability and fun factor....my drag days are pretty much done as I am flat out bored with it.

The swap is fairly easy, I've done it in a couple days when rushing. I had a 2.5 with a PE1818 on my 02 WRX and the torque of the car was amazing. It was definitely a rush getting on the gas in that car.

The only thing I'd add to that list of things is a good 10mm Hex socket and a breaker bar to get the damn cam sprockets off, or the proper Subaru tool.
