Now nearing the completion of my 2 month driving grandma's 93 Buick Century, I'm down to a week or so left on project drop a 2006 STi motor in a 2003 bugeye. FUN FUN FUN!

Down to wiring. I'm going to make it easy I hope and buy the center dash (for HAVC controls) and an STi Cluster. I'm tired of this swap and I just want it done. My old engine threw a rod and I wanted to just drop in another engine and be done with it. my friend who owns a garage said I could got STi. well pretend I wrote 19 pages more on how that went till I ended up with a 2006 STi motor(including accessories) with harness, ECU, and imobilizer off steering wheel. Oh yeah and a gas pedal too. There my friends so you let them had their way hoping for a deal. Oh the STi isn't much more...YEAH RIGHT.

Anyways, 7G's later your car in near completion and engine is going in wiring harness is installed... Oh wait we need a cluster and center dash with HAVC controls. Anyone give me some pointers to help my friends drain less of my money? Granted I never wanted to spend 7-8G but hey maybe it's still a deal, especially with my new 2006 dash :)

WJM knows Jeff whom helped me uninstall my APv2, is needed here. Is it easier/less expensive to buy these guys the cluster and center dash? I can get it for less than $600 for both.

Ok migraine med time...not sure what the HVAC controls have to do with the motor...simple thing would have been to keep your ECU and go hydra or something similar. You could have also just used the wrx intake manifold so you didn't have to worry about the drive by wire...long story short, seems like you are making it more difficult than it really needs to be....I think...reading it made me hurt. In short sell the ECU, sell the intake, sell the AP and you have enough to go with hydra. Given I have no experience with hyrda, but from the research I did, it is decent and can control the AVCS of the new motor.
