So after years of wanting an STI and winding up with something else, I finally got one on March 23rd. The day I bought it, I had to drive to the airport and leave her abandoned for several days.

Since then, I've done the following mods:

SPT cat-back exhaust, dealer installed at 400 miles
Subaru underseat subwoofer, dealer installed at 400 miles
Subaru fog lights, dealer installed at 400 miles

15% window tint at 2300 miles
Cobb AccessPort 2 with 93 octane stage 1 OTS tune at 2300 miles
JPM Coachworks alcantara interior dress-up: Subaru extended center armrest, door-mounted armrests, shift boot and e-brake boot all covered in black perforated alcantara.

Here's what she looks like right now:

I've got a few goodies en route due in the next week or so along with a few items in the garage:

Cobb SF cold air intake and airbox
    VG sharkfin antenna
Whiteline front and rear 24mm swaybars and endlinks
    Whiteline front roll-center kit
Whiteline front and rear differential positive power kits (diff bushings)
Tein Super Street w/ pillowball mount coilovers
    PST carbon fiber drive shaft

    VG sharkfin and JPM interior:

    Ooh so that was you.
I thought that was longfury, the only guy on here that had a white 2011 STi. Or so I thought.

We indeed talked about you when you left, haha. Other guy with the 11 was kinda jelly that he didnt have SPT exhaust. Nice car

I only wish that I'd bought just a few weeks earlier so I could've brought all of the goods out to install during the install day! Anywho...I'll certainly try to plan better!

Ordered the Prova yellow wide-angle mirrors today! Along with K&N oil filters and magnetic oil pan drain plug, and HKS oil filler cap!

Other 11 was the PBP Limited right? Yeah, I talked to the guy for a few as well....I'm wondering if he'll show up here? Think he was in the military so might not be a native to the area??

Yeah, that's the only other 2011 that came out as far as I know. He actually posted in the Introduction thread.

Also, really, really nice STi. White is a really great color for Subarus, and the 2011 STi is no exception.
At first, the body style was a little too much for me, but in person, it's pretty awesome.

I'm diggin' the white. Shows the lines of the car better than other colors. Personally I would debadge everything off the trunk except for the sti logo. I think you'll like that look better

  10. Looking forward to seeing what you do with her!!

I absolutely love the white...I tried to find a white one when we bought the TopSpeed shop STI, but couldn't :(

    Beautiful car!

Good job getting the factory tune off there quick...I have yet to see a 2011 come in here that didn't pull timing like crazy on the factory tune.

Swing by the shop and Ill show you the dyno charts from our shop car, there are some pretty big gains to be had from a ProTune.

P.S. Sorry forgot I was on my personal account

The white looks stunning in person, and should look really fanstastic when modded. Do you live off Barrett Parkway? A new white 2011 popped up in my neighborhood but only saw it once.

Nope...I'm a hillbilly from West GA! However, I've been to your shop a few times trying to get Ryan to lighten my wallet on your behalf, maybe next time I'm at your shop you can say hi.

Thanks for the compliments-when I decided I was doing this, there was never a question about what color I was going to get.

Nevermind what I had read about the dangerously lean tune these things come from the factory with - driving it flat footed in S/S# at 4000+RPM was downright embarasssing! It sputtered and stumbled worse than I would have ever expected it to - really suprised these pass QC at the factory really.

Sooner or later, I will get pro-tuned after I make all of the pre-turbo swap mods done.

    Thanks!!

It's remarkable you can even FEEL the leaness and stumbles right off the showroom floor. Feels downright awful. Wakes up nicely, and safely with the Cobb.

Looking forward to seeing the car. Have you considered some wheels/tires?

I cringe thinking about the month or two I ran with the stock tune. I always felt the stumbles and after I data logged it, fixed it up and never went back.

Well, it's back from Forged for the first round of suspension mods...got the sway bars, end links and front differential bushing kit installed along with the CF PST drive shaft and TEIN SSp's.

I have to go back in again to finish up the roll center kit and the rear diff bushing kits.

Hopefully the guys at Forged can get some pics for me while the car is up on the lift to show some of these things.

I can feel a little better throttle response with the CF driveshaft...butt dyno doesn't think it was money well spent, but it's staying on the car nonetheless.

With the coilovers and swaybars going in at the same time its impossible to gauge the effect of each mod but all I can say is that it's finally starting to feel like I wanted it to from the showroom. Now all I need is another 150HP or so....

What ride height do you intend to run with your coilovers?

    Uh...about this high:

Seriously haven't gotten that far yet...still have to get everything done and ready for alignment. I like the way it looks now so I suspect we'll keep it there. Need a measurement?

how much that cost you? went over to that site and i get the idea that it was at least 1000.00$

I ordered the PST driveshaft from Kirill @ Rallysportdirect and it cost around 1100.00 delivered. There's a sticky in the vendor forum area on NASIOC for this item.

So ive gotta ask, why the driveshaft? Seems there are TON better places on the car to spend that kind of coin that would make a bigger difference.

No need for a measurement, was just curious. I will add a new suspension at some point in the future again :) And Kiril is the man, those guys have the "customer experience" down pat over at RSD.

Before I start adding a lot of power 'adders', I wanted to maximize what was already there. I prefer everything to work efficiently, and thusly wanted to focus on eliminating a lot of the slop in the engine and drivetrain to improve power, handling and feel.

Also, I did not care for the poor throttle response when in I or S modes coming off the line. There were times that it almost stalled and since installing the driveshaft have not had to be as critical with clutch disengagement when moving from a stop.

Have you considered lightweight wheels as well? I'd love a set of those TE37 super laps :p

  27. pck823

    pck823 Member

Yup...wheels and tires are on the list, but I'm just too torn between all of the choices. I've been scoping RE30's (like the one's on Sharif's 370), Advans and Wedsports. I've considered others like HRE, but keep coming back to the usual JDM suspects...if only someone would make me an offer that I can't pass up...(Sharif-you reading this?:) A reaalllly reallly good deal and I might be convinced to plaster one or more of your stickers across my windshield!)

I'm tentatively planning on doing the MVP Driving School at RA in November, so I've got til then to get this decision made and maybe some other mods I'm considering.

Ah, the RE30s are great. What color were you considering to go with that white.

Himeta Bronze...of course it had to be the most expensive finish. :grr:

Going to pick up the car from Forged after roll center kit and rear diff bushing kits installed...

Also got a few things in the mail to work on this weekend:
