i finally got my wheels ordered and now i have to decide on tire size. i need help on which ones to buy. i'm going 215/45 or 40 r17. the last time i had some 205/40's on my civic (i know, i've converted for the better) i felt every bump in the road. so that's why i was thinking 45's. but i don't want too much tire and it to look like i've got huge side walls. so whatcha think?
i think 45's would be the way to go with 17s... that should stay close to the overall stock diameter... thus i think ur speedometer would read more accurately with 45s than 40s
that's what i was thinking but i just didn't want to get the tires on the rims and think they have too much side wall. i kinda like the lo pro look.
i have 235/40/18... the standard fitment would be 225/40/18 but the extra 10mm makes it look a lot more aggressive... however ive heard from wagon owners that u cant run 235/40/18 without rubbing... u have the teins so u may be able to stiffen them up but u might have to roll ur fenders too... u might wanna PM yerrow because he bought 18s with the same tires as mine but ended up selling them to avoid rubbing
i have 225-40-18's with s-techs with no rubbin' its still going to be dependant also on the offset of your new wheels. mine have a +48, if yours are +53 you may be able to get away with 235's
the offset is +48 but i'm so low that i'm afraid to run anything wider than a 215. i like the way she looks and would hate to have to raise her back up.
i'm on tein s-techs, your car just looks lower since you're on stockers. this was mine on stockers compared to now
yerrow- i still think i'm at least 1/2 an inch lower than you but i guess it doesn't matter. i was talking to a tire guy and now i'm wondering if i can fit 225's on my wagon and still clear. if i go 225/40 it would have the same side wall hight as 215/45. so now i really have no idea.
My STi wheels have 225/45/17s stock. I put 235/45/17s and they rub at the track where as the OEM tires do not. Keep in mind the wider you go, the taller the sidewall gets with the same aspect ratio.
