I had been planning on changing the two drive belts when I had a free weekend to also change the timing belt. Then I noticed the belt was turning into swiss cheese.

thats weak, mine was literally down to one thread. i noticed the power steering getting a little tough and popped the hood. another 10 miles probably would've snapped

    You're supposed to inspect and/or replace every 30k :)

the car has about 58,000 miles on it. Maybe it was changed at 30,000 but i don't have any record of it, doubt the previous owner changed it. I'm going to change the timing belt soon as the car is about 96 months old.

For real, my original power steering belt was corded halfway across the belt.

Thats the problem with having a reliable car, I hadnt popped the hood for anything more than oil changes for the last 3 years.
