The AP arrived in the mail today.

It was an '04 model sold last fall, so I had to do a few things... download the new Map Manager (1.62) and a patch to get it to talk. Then I couldn't load the '05 maps to the AP, so called Cobb and they said I can either send it in for an update or download and run a firmware update myself. I did the latter, and now I can load '05 maps to it no problem.

Also learned that the TARI freeware data logger works with the AP cable. So I will run some logs before loading the AP (a/f ratio, injector pulsewidth, boost etc) and then log some more once Stage 2 is loaded. Mainly looking to see how quickly boost comes on and CL/Ol delay changes. Should be fun.

Will do... if I get the freeware datalogger to work I'd be happy to do some logging on other people's cars if they're interested.

Awesome, keep us updated. Which Map are you running?

I will be running the v1.30 Stage 2 93 octane map. Probably load it tomorrow or Thursday since I did some stock datalog runs with TARI this evening.

Just means you can log engine management parameters... can yield some interesting stuff if you know what to look for.

Are you going to get the street tuner? I hope to get the AP later this year and then get the ST tuned by Seigel later on....

Yes, I will be getting StreetTuner.

Well, I am Stage 2 now. Since it's ugly outside I just did a short spin... still, there is NO stumble in 2nd or 3rd. Pulls hard to redline rather than fizzling off gradually past 5k. Smooth as can be. Hitting around 15# on the gauge; a bit lower than target but I'll give it a few days before logging again.. if it's still low then I'll try the HWG map to hit target (15.8#) boost.

I did run a few logs this evening, and I'm actually only seeing 14.1# boost where I saw 14.2 before going to stage 2. However, it's holding boost far better in the higher RPMs, which makes a huge difference. I'll chat w/ Cobb a bit before trying the HWG map; I know some '05 owners had to tighten their wastegate arm a bit to hit boost targets.

As for the CL/OL delay, it's enormously improved. I did a 3rd gear run from 2500rpm and at 2800 it was already starting to run rich.

    Some other info:
Stock 2nd gear run... boost tapers around 4800, and drops below 11# at 6100 RPM... 8# at 6700.

Stage 2 2nd gear run.. boost starts tapering at 5400 or so, but is still 11# at 6800RPM.

Stock 2nd gear run... running stoich ratio for 3.3 seconds after punching it. Under full boost for 1.8 seconds while this lean!

Stage 2 2nd gear run... running stoich for 1.2 seconds after punching it. Doesn't reach full boost while lean.

i kinda miss my accessport. It was indeed a great step up from stock ECU. What I miss the most of chaning map capability whenever I want to. Out of all, I miss the "VALET" map the most. I never trust those valet drivers.

Well, Ecutek is probably one of the best options for somebody who's happy with their modding and doesn't plan to change much or tweak stuff themselves.

I for one can't stay away from futzing with things though.. thus StreetTuner in the near future. :)
