I currently have an HKS Carbon-Ti bolted to a Helix Catted downpipe. Fitment is great, but I will be replacing the HKS in around a month with a new exhuast. The new exhuast is a JDM-lenght piece, but I would really like to keep both my cat and my downpipe. Anybody have any experience modding us spec downpipes to fit the longer jdm lenght? It seems like it would be easy enough to cut off the helix, weld a flange in an hoorah you have an exhaust that fits, with a nice catted downpipe. But sometimes the "easy" way is just too difficult to be worth it.

correct me if i'm wrong, the JDM downpipes are shorter (shorty downpipes i've heard advertised), but the mid section length is longer? I believe TurboXS makes an adapter pipe with flange to correct the length difference.

    JDM pipes fit differently.

I know the jdm is shorter but does it actually have a different fitment? Would it be enough difference in fitment that a good and capable shop wouldn't be able to coax the downpipe into working?
