almost 3000mile, time for synthetic?

    So i'm almost at 3000 miles on my 06 sti. I had the oil changed at aroun 1200 and technically I don't have to change it again until 4200 miles but I just want to stay on schedual. Anyways, I think I'm going to change it my self, except I don't know if I should stay with conventional or switch to synthetic. Is it too soon to do it?

    It is never too soon to switch to synthetic. I switched to Mobil 1 Synth on my first Oil Change at 3000 miles and have used it everytime since.

    talk to SS or will at SOG... they recommended 3 oil changes with regular if i remember correctly

    I usually go at 500, 1500, then 3000 with regular then switch over on a new engine.
