Was up in North GA Mtns., on Sunday and got passed by small caravan of subies (WRB Wgn, CGM sedan, and OPB sedan). I must have gotten passed a total of 6 times between 11:00 and and 2:00 pm. I even noticed the WRB wgn had a fender mount camera and was doing some filming. Oh did I mention I was on my road bike doing a 50 mile 3 gap training ride. To the credit of the subie drivers they did a great job of share the road which I can not say for some the crotch rocket curve carvers.
Ya on some of those roads I think you are a bit crazy if you ride a road bike on the weekends up there just because of all the weekend warrior and tourist traffic. There is barely enough room for 2 cars on either side of the yellow lines, let alone room for a bike.
The wagon was me. Which road did you see us on lol. Man that must be intense riding up there! Kudos to you, I could never do it.
yup, I was the UGM sedan that was Dana (sparta), Jason and I...we were up there shooting some footage. It was crowded as all get out up there, we pretty much just had to take it slow except for a few parts where we could open it up. We each mounted the camera in different locations to get some good footage, now we just have to wait for Dana to finish it up
I would have gone up with you guys if it had been on a weekend when I didnt have my daughter, and my 4th gear is being stupid so I have to take it back to augusta for a tranny rebuild or new tranny.
Well, I'm a "crotch rocket curve carver" and I must say that the problem is that motorcycles cannot brake in a turn. Once we're committed to a turn at a certain speed, that's just about it. If I see roadies ahead I'll slow down, but I must say when I come around a turn and get surprised by bikers 2-wide, it sucks more for ME than THEM.
oh you can brake in a turn with the rear brake. and then you know what "backing it in" means. pratice it with sweeping turns and then move on to tighter corners. it can be fun, just make sure you have good insurance. can also be done with throttle though i don't recomend it.
