Has anyone heard of it? If so, is it good or bad?

I heard about it from my roomate, he just put some in his YZF. Supposedly they created the first 100% synthetic oil. And from what little i've read it sounds pretty good.

Apparently the stuff is really good, and comes from quality full synthetic base stocks. I just switched to Amsoil Series 2000 0W-30 full synthetic at 4500 miles two weeks ago on my new STi (Troncolli changed it for me so it's on the books). The distibution on the product is very network marketing and I was initially leary of it because of the way that it's sold.

If my engine blows up because of the switch I'll let everone know :)

But seriously. It is a good quality synthetic oil and the only real drawbacks I see are:

    1) The price
    2) I have to plan ahead and order cases of it in advance.

I bought a case from a distributor in Marietta named Don who lives just off of Sandy Plains road. He didn't have it in stock, but had it ready for pickup at his house in two business days.

For me I chose to run it because relative to the cost of a new engine it's cheap insurance, and I wanted something that was full synthetic to avoid potential coking issues with my turbo. I'm not planning on stretching the mileage too much, I just want to use a good high end lubricant, many people have their likes and dislikes on brands, so I'm sure many will offer their input..

I was also reading about octane boosters on a couple of other wrx forums and the amsoil octane booster rated pretty well.

I didn't mean to be an airbag but I hope this helps.

no, i'm fine with mobil 1. i was just trying to get more info on AMSOIL and was looking for anyone with experience using it. so far is sounds like it might be better than mobil 1. plus it is a 100% fully synthetic oil.
