i've been trying for the past 3 weeks to register but I finally got in today. Bought a 2002 WRX and happy that i did. I can't wait to put some nice toys :naughty: in it. It's stock to my knowledge. I'm still looking into this as I found out today that the turbo and other pieces were probably not stock at one point but stock parts are back on now.
Welcome! where did you get the car from? A lot of times, we can find out what's been on the car in the past. Sorry for the issues you had signing up. We are trying to be elitist snobs.
welcome to the site! Post up some pics, a little info about the car, where you bought her from, any identifying marks, etc... If that car was part of any of the local clubs someone should be able to ID her for you and give you a lot of history.
That's the truth. Most WRXs have been modded sometime in their history and more often than not the previous owner was a member or friends of a member on here or nasioc. Welcome!
I bought her from a lot in cumming. They said she was a trade in at the gwinett place subaru. the previous owner left his registration card etc in the owners manual. lived in suwanee... here are pics.
welcome. Clear those side markers asap. car looks good.. I hope it hasn't been modded in the past.. I know I'm weird but a car that has had major mods in the past I tend to be wary of.. I dont trust other people to do mods lol. I used to have a 67 chevy truck project and bought parts trucks for it.. I found so many diy mods on those things I simply cant trust people anymore lol.
welcome... if you buy a used wrx or sti, assume it has been modded to some degree. some pointers on your new ride: http://www.wrxatlanta.com/forums/showthread.php?p=284138#post284138
I'm looking to put some breathing room on it soon aka an exhaust. On my previous cars i've always used the Carbon Fiber Hornet and custom piping so i'll probably stick to that as i like the way it sounds. not ricey nice and deep. not many people have stuff for sale posted so if anyone is selling i'm a buyer!
I didn't buy it because a better deal came up from a buddy of mines friend. I actually never even got out to the lot to look at yours, but from the pictures it seemed like it was in great shape, and only one mild accident.
I didn't know of the accident until the paper work was on the table. There was some transmission issues or somethign that was noted on the sheet too. I'm guessing I'll need to call subaru and see if they can print out the service records for me.
When i took it to topspeed due to my p0244, they pointed out that the wastegate was tee'ed in a non-stock fashion. the hose that attached to the wastegate acuator was cracked. he replaced it and gave it a once over and said that it was placed back into stock trim at some point and that a larger turbo was ran on it at one point. the tranny feels weird too.
