I wonder if they thought we couldn't have magnetic hard drives bigger than 80 gigs because of static laws of physics, too. ;p
I don't know why corn got to be the poster child for ethanol in the US, probably some good maneuvering of a corn lobbyist. various grasses will be much better suited for the soil and repeat crops than corn for the ethanol production.
