I was looking at some turbos, and i dont want to order a wrong tubo, too big or too small. I know i will need a tune and a exhaust and different ECU and few more bolt ons. My budget is around $2,000 on parts. Currently im running on cold air intake, sti axel back, BOV. Here are few turbos that i looked at. site:http://www.modacar.com/products/Subaru/Impreza/MODAFOIN/turbokits.html 1.GT28R 53MM 62 TRIM 2.GT30R 76.2MM 84 TRIM 3.GT32 71MM 52 TRIM Exhaust: http://www.modacar.com/products/Subaru/Impreza/MODACAB/catbackexhaust.html 1. Buddy Club Pro Spec Exhaust All the info is more than welcomed. If you know a good setup that would get me to 300HP-350HP , please let me know.:ddirty: NEW PROBLEM: CHECK OUT PAGE 5 post 47.
Get an 8cm 20g port and polished from Deadbolt, and some aggressive cams and higher compression valves. Put you right where you want to be
What year is your car? If you don't have a 2.5l. I would start with that and they build it up. And I agree with the 20g Deadbolt.
Well i have 02 WRX 2.0l. I was looking for a setup with out doing anything with internals. But if i have to do get some cams and higher compression valves to run safe, than its not a biggie, i can spend lil extra. And would it be safe to run 20g on stock internals?
If you go bigger turbo you might be looking at getting a new tranny pretty quick if you still have the stock glass 5sp depending on how you drive. I am more conservative and you could do an 18g DB without internals. When speaking of internals and so forth I would just consider swapping in a 2.5 prior to putting allot of money into a 2.0. I have the same car and I did a DBbig16g , exhaust AP etc. I am right around 280whp the turbo spools quick and it is good for city driving and my tranny is fairly safe as long as I keep out of the red line. In hind site I would have done an 18 although I hear there is some lag on the bigger turbos and the 2.0 isn't that torquey' to make up for it. Prior to putting any more into this engine I am going to drive as is until I can afford to do tranny and suspension then it will be ready for the big hp. The 18g should get you right around 300whp. My current set up is fine for me. I have plenty of tickets to vuoch for that Good luck!
When I was shoping for my turbo, after extensive search I settled down to 16g. Then I upsized just one not to 18G. It has been a perfect turbo for street and highway. Now I'm back in stock turbo. It does has better initial throttle, but that's where it ends. exhaust is soo quiet and I keep forgetting to shift. lol However, for sure, 18g cannot touch the horse power level of GT series. Possible around 350ish whp with meth injection, but nothing glorious like 400whp.
350whp on a 2.0L is going to take alot more than 2g. You would be better off getting an STI intercooler, Vf39,sti pinks, and a tune for your budget.
ive decided to go with this setup. vf39 tmic STI UP Lachute DP invidia 3" exhaust Fp Walbro And a tune ofcourse. I saw this setup on youtube, and they guy pushed 300+ on 17 psi. Now i gotta find where i can buy all these parts.:coolugh: WHAT YOU GUYS THINK
That is a decent setup and it won't put your tranny at too much risk if you drive it right. BTW I have a Walbro for 50.
ohh not u man, i heard alot of bad things about how u sell and stuff jk. any ways, it looks like we're doing business again. i will let you know mike, and is it used?
you might get 260-270whp maybe with that setup, unless you have a 2.5l your going to spend big money to get over 300whp
OFF TOPIC:On my current stock(cold air intake, BOV) WRX, the boost gauge shows me that i should be hitting 12psi, at full throttle i only hit about 10psi. Now i dont know if my boost gauge is off, or do i really have a boost leak some where. Im running on after market BOV, could that be a reason??
thx buddy. I did some research between vf39 and vf43. We all know which one comes from which sti. But what i read and learned is that vf43 gets about 290WHP, and vf39 gets about 285. And also vf43 spools up faster, and they cost the same. So would it be smarter to go with vf43? "IHI VF39: The IHI VF39 comes stock on the 04-06 US Market STi, and is a well proven upgrade path for the WRX. The VF39 uses a thrust bearing setup with a P18 exhaust housing capable of 285 whp* on the EJ20. If you are considering the VF39, we highly suggest checking out the VF43 as it is a better setup in the same class. IHI VF43: The IHI VF43 comes stock on the 2007 STi. It has almost identical features of the VF39 with a thrust bearing and a P18 exhaust housing, but the wastegate opening is larger to relieve boost creep issues. The VF43 is capable of 290 whp* on the EJ20."
That sounds like a winner. If he pushed 300+ he's probably on meth. If your going to keep this car and eventually build it up to make big hp make your next project a tranny swap.
i was looking at sti pinks as someone stated above for $600, so ill prob. get sti pinks. Im not in a rush, my goal is to have this setup by end of this year. And yes, if i plan on going 300+ later on, i will definitely go with the 6speed sti tranny. Because i know a guy who has a sti swap on a 02 WRX, but still has a 5 speed tranny. And every other month one of his gears give away or some other B.S. I will keep you guys posted as i get my parts and so on. And does anyone know a local Subaru junk yard, maybe i can come across an sti TMIC, or sti pinks or who knows what else.
Uppipe, full exhaust, vf39, sti pinks, Sti TMIC, and an airfilter should get you between 280-295whp with a good tune ofcourse. That is so long as your car is in good working order. With the 2.0L your limited by octane, so for the most part a vf39, 16g, 18g, will all make about the same power on pumpgas. Its not untill you add in an octane modifier like Meth or racegas that you see any benifit in running a turbo larger than a vf39 on the 2.0L.
get your pink injectors off of ebay I did for < 300 there are a few sets for 375 now. A new used set with 5 days left for 105. Just some options but those 850's are a good price too.
Im not familiar with "modded" injectors, care to explain, what does it actually mean? and are we talking about these injectors, http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/...ctor-set-subaru-wrx-0203-and-08-p-53033.html? Okery guys, i came across these pink injectors. They were used for about 20 minutes, i want to place a bid off 150.00. In any way, could these be damaged? Those will work as long as they are top feed. I don't think that they will stay at that price though.
my buddy just told me that he has a X02 Racing UP, its brand new. He said it came with his X02 Racing exhaust, but never used the UP. He selling it to me for 30 bucks, its a 3", should i go for it?
I think he is talking about a DP I dont know of any 3" UP. But no matter what it is UP/DP for 30 bucks get it.
^^i didnt know what the hell he was talking about either, cus i tried to research about it but found nothing. But yeah im getting it tomorow, ill take some pics once i get it. here is the part of the convo. HIM ME any UP is a bitch lol ill sell u an UP for 30$ dude never used im not gonna install anything until i get ALL the parts what kind X02 Racing is it good quality u know the exhaust on my blue one yes came with that ohh and that exhaust is still perfect condition
Im not familiar with "modded" injectors, care to explain, what does it actually mean? You should probably pm the seller. Modded injectors are usually done professionaly. He has also been running those with no problem as far as I could see. You'd be much safer dealing with someone from this community than e-bay. You just never know what your get on e-bay. In addition those injectors were on an ej205 so they will work on your car and they will support a mighty big turbo.
I got my UP. My friend said he got it from nopi or some shit. but w.e. one part down. thousand to go.
looks like it. But i have a new problem. Since i bought the car, when i would turn it on it would sound like its about to die. Today i went and bought a new battery, and it still did it. Than i checked the mass airflow sanser, and i found out that one of the screws that hold the sensor have broken off. My friend held the sanser down so no leaks, and it still did it. Than as my car was running, we unplugged the senser and the car would run better and would not try to die as i press down on the gas and let go, as it would try to die with the sanser pluged in. So is my mass airflow sanser fucked? If it is, than anyone got one for sale?
You'll have to pay more and look longer for the 43, but alot of the VF39s you find can be high mileage and may be as bad or worse than mine was. Mine was 46k and only hitting 12PSI in the upper rev range at full waste gate duty. Just be careful where you buy.
