I've got a couple cam bolts that need demolition and I think the only thing that's going to work at this point is the CV nut trick seen here: http://youtu.be/WjZ0XtLYtzc I've got two motors and both are out of the car and in the garage. I'm near the intersection of Dallas Hwy and Barrett Pkwy in Marietta. Shoot me a PM or call/text (4)291-1216.
once again, go to Home Depot. Buy a propane torch along with a Yellow MAPP gas bottle. Buy the Husky impact ratchet then get a 1/2" 10mm Allen socket. take torch and heat up bolt head, keep tip of blue flame right on the bolt for max heat. Soak with penetrate oil, hammer the impact, remove bolt with socket because bare handing a hot bolt hurts. if the Allen head is trashed Irwin bolt extractor will work but may need a 3/8" to 1/2" adapter to work with impact. if neither work getting the bolt out, roll car away from house, remove gas cap, leave torch lit under car with tools scattered, wait... call 911 then insurance company.
if you drill the head off the cam gear will come off and you will be able to remove the rest of the bolt with your finger. The bit needs to be a little larger than the allen head. Matt
I guess that's a better choice than my last option, I've slotted them with a small cut off wheel then loosened them with a punch and hammer too. have to use a small wheel though otherwise you'll get into the plastic gear. This is why I don't throw away small worn ones unless it's chunked or worn all the way down to the arbor. You'll always come across an issue where a full size wheel won't fit.
