Has anybody used Six Star Service in Decatur before? They're a mile or so down from my house and I've got a few little PITA things that need to be taken care of. Mainly checking to see if they'll balk at working on a heavily modified car doing relatively OEM work (differential flush, replace a leaking PS line, flush PS fluid). I need to give them a ring sometime this week and check for sure but wanted to see if anyone on here had used them, search didnt pull up anything relevant. Thanks!
Thanks for the quick reply. I just got off the phone with them and they sound like they're not worried about the modded car but are backed up so I'll need an appointment. That oil leak I mentioned at Hotoberfest is actually a leak at one of the power steering lines that are up underneath the turbo and it's spraying right onto the DP and splattering the firewall and block back there. I dont have the time to pull the turbo to get in there and replace the lines nor the tools to flush a rear diff. Not a big deal for the tiny amount that I ever drive these days but want to get it taken care of ASAP.
If you need it seen to sooner rather than later, Quantum Mechanics on Talley Cir have a lot of experience with Subarus. My power steering line also sprung a leak and did exactly what yours did. Quantum was where that was repaired.
Justin is a awesome guy, I've sent probably 8 or 10 friends and family members down there for work on their Subarus. Very Honest guy, really friendly, and he knows his stuff.
A little late getting into this, I guess, but I have Six Star do all the work on my car that I don't feel like doing. Juston is awesome, and definitely won't bullshit you. Stand up guy running a stand up shop. Sometimes I just stop by to say hey and see how things are going because I kinda like hanging out over there.
Thanks for the glowing recommendations. Dropping the car off sometime next week. Hopefully with the appointment set, they'll be able to get in there, pull the turbo, fix the leaking PS lines and put it back together in the same day. Wish I had the time and tools to do so.
Six Star was great as expected. Turned out it wasnt a power steering line, it was a torn boot around the steering linkage that was flinging grease at the DP. They saw few preventative things to take care of while they had the axles out and fixed a few other small things, great watching out. I'll definitely be back.
