I can't find any pics of slowwrx's engine bay ANYWHERE! Anyone on here have a custom rotated kit? I'm looking for any kits that don't use the typical Perrin/UR FMIC intercooler path. Basically I think it's more efficient to route the piping out the turbo and into the passenger fender well and then around to the drivers side to the throttlebody. That way the cold pipe isn't on top of the hot turbo...however it is near the exhaust manifold so I dunno....just want to do something that looks different. So post up pics or links if you have any! Also any discussion about the pipe routing is welcome! I am trying to get ready for my forged piston STi longblock swap! Tons of research and readying to do!
Found Doug's Brighton with this. Doug what is your opinion on that intake path? How big is the hot pipe and cold pipe?
Thanks JT Money. Only thing I'd be worried about is with the scoop you would have a lot of water going in there when it rains hnoes:
The ARC front mount uses the "reverse" flow piping as well. May look at that one. I **think** the WRB fmic setup uses a reverse flow as well.
I like this one with the MAF after the BOV. The kit that's on the motor/tranny on the stand has the maf right before the turbo...that would be fun.
I'm not worried about the MAF.....I'm going with a Hydra so all it needs the MAF for is to read the intake temps so it will be in the fender well
The WBR FMIC uses a counter clockwise setup. I just got mine for the legacy and believe it should be the same for the wrx/sti as well.
greddy front mount kit has counter clockwise setup. There's a pic in my F/S thread. http://www.wrxatlanta.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14256
I have the UR counter clock wise FMIC piping kit and using it with my TXS FMIC. It took a little modding of the piping to make it work with my IC, but it wasn't too bad.
