Try and get Hifi Buys or something similar to price match internet stuff. The salesmen will cut you a deal since they work off comission.

 

ikesound doesn't have dva-9860 listed on their website. I might give them a call tomorrow. The list price for this headunit is $499 and hifi buys didn't have it in stock last time I went. Ebay sometimes have it for ~$370.

Thanks for the heads up guys but I ended up getting Pioneer DVH-P5000MP. I couldn't wait any longer to install the screen with the headunit. I will post some pix after I finish up some of the other things... Just trying to finish up some stuff before the show season (kinda late... i know... haha)

 

which one is the 5000MP? i had the 5700MP but just took it back to get the new alpine double din.

 

5000mp is the one with DVD player built in...

 

I dunno if u have looked into the clarions but i can get an awesome deal on the top of the line pro audio unit with built dvd player 7"screen ipod hook up with touch screen options....i have the 2005 model and love it, i can probably get you the same one for a real good price..

only bad thing about that is the ipod adapter is slow as crap. I switched to alpine bc theres is really fast.

picked mine up last week and its freakin sweet...ipod speed cable rocks its so quick. The only thing that sux is theres a 2 step process to trick the unit for getting dvds to play. You will love it when it comes and it sits so flush in the wrx dash.

 

You can use a PAC TR7

 

i suppose it would work but only for 1 step. Basically you have to setup a foot pedal and ebrake simulation. What i did was put 2 switches in and it worked fine. 1 of them allows 12 volts to be sent as like that relay would work, and the other allows for ground. that relay is a 50/50 thing though.

 

I just hooked up that wire to the ground and it plays DVDs at anytime.

 

well it depends which models you buy....the AVIC N2 you actually have to solder a wire, and the ones like the alpine 200 you have to hooked up 2 switches because it has a break pedal wire and a ebrake wire. Some like the jensens you just run it to ground and it will work. Then you have some like the pioneer 5700DVD that you have to hook up a single switch.

 

I took one with my cell yesterday but the quality sucks... i will take pix with a digital camera but I'd rather wait until I get new wheels hopefully this weekend

Can you get me some info on this? Im' looking to put a touch screen head unit in place of my 6 disk changer before too long. I want it to take up the whole 2 din slot, be touch screen, possibly have an option for navigation, play mp3's, etc...

Any ideas that will not break the bank?

 

the alpine IVA - W200, its 999.99 new and has all the features yuor looking for. if you want navigation then the pioneer AVIC D2 is now coming out, but it will probably run you something like 1400 or so.

 

All i know is i can get that clarion unit probably for 800 or less it all depends on what you want..

i had the 5700 DVD pioneer that i paid 646.00 brand new but i decided i didnt like the fold out.

 

those are so BA, i would love to have WMC in my car.
