I want to go to Rally school. Anyone know of any really nice ones?

I have heard of Team Oneil Rally schools. Anyone else?

^^ The website is a little weird. Scroll down on the website to actually see it.

Oneils is good, but that is up in New Hampshire I believe, if not, it is definitely in the Northeastern US. I was looking into doing the Ivor Whigham European Driving School a couple years back, but it was too expensive to get into an AWD car.

Ivor Whighams Rally School is in Starke, Fl, so it is rather close as opposed to the Team Oneil School.

They used to have GC2.5rs's and maybe a bugeye 2.5rs. When I called, I had my 02 WRX and asked them if I would be able to take my own car out and they said no. I think it was something like $2500 for a 2 days course with AWD cars. Based on what I can tell from the website, that would be a Celica AWD.

Aside from that, there are all kinds of other cool vacation ideas on the main website, incredible-adventures.com, but most are way out of my price range. If I ever win the lottery, I am doing every adventure offered on that website.

I am a rally fan, I have been enjoying autocross, and I think next year I am going to try Rallycross out, I figure it's about the cheapest way to get your car dirty and do a little dirt drifting. I am going to go that school in Florida sooner or later, but things are going to have to pick up at work before I drop that kind of cash.

Speaking of, I am going to study abroad in the UK soon. I hope I can go see some rallying and maybe participate in a school.

If you do go over let me know. I will have my brother research it. We have dual citizenship there. He lives in East London. He is a big fan of Rally racing. I am sure he could ask the locals what a good and affordable school is.

Alabama SCCA (www.alscca.org) and Tennesse Region SCCA (www.trscca.org) put on several rallyx events every year. I do believe the SCCA National RallyX championship was held up in Nashville this year.

Just wanted to say I went to one the TN region events last year, and it was a total blast. It was up in the mountains just past Chatanooga at the organizer's home. We chilled all afternoon on his back porch, grilled out, and I think we each got 10 runs in his back yard. Sounds cheesy I know, but he had a good couple of acres back there. Plenty of space to have fun.

It sounds like you're looking for something a bit more hardcore, but if you're looking for a day trip diversion, I highly recommend checking it out.
