I already bought the window (Thanks to WJM) now I just need it installed. SOG is asking 200. Anyone know where I can get this done cheaper? Or knows how to install this themselves? Lots of beer and $50 will definitely be your way
Ive replaced 4 cables on power windows on 240s and i assume its similar. Nissan wanted $210 (labor) 6 years ago plus the frame with the motor ($180). I went to REI and bought a brake cable for tandem bikes ($6) and did that myself. If its the same setup its fairly easy. 1. wind window 90% down 2. Remove door card and switches. 3. remove window frame bolts (had 4 in mine) 4. make sure you support the frame with window before you remove the last nut. 5. push the studs away from the inside while holding the window frame and push it up. 6. there is a specific way the frame will come out (there are cutouts on the door for the studs to clear). remember how they tilt to come out because you need to get it back in the same (reverse) way 7. Once the frame ans window is out then you can replace the window 8. normally held down by two nuts at the bottom. 9. after inserting the new window and motor frame back into the car. and aligning the studs in the slots. hand tighten the nuts and connect your window control box to wind it up almost all the way the align it before tightening the 4 nuts. Ill look at the pics i had later this weekend to see how many buts there are when i did my door sound dampening
