I have been searching around and trying to get prices... anyone have knowledge of a killer deal on them?
missed the boat...i gave mine away a couple weeks ago. You're going to want to find them new, though, unless you know the motor they came from. Though I personally don't think it's possible, people have said they stretch when torqued down and using used ones could cause you to blow a head
cheapest i found was 152 plus shipping from an ebay company but i was just gonna see if there was a hidden source some were maybe...
They do stretch but you can't measure it with a yard stick. As for the blown head gaskets blamed on ARP studs, it's possible but I would blame the assembly process before saying the studs were the root cause. If using a seasoned block for a build, the best thing to do is chase all the threads with the proper tool. If reusing ARP head studs, check the width with a caliper to see if any of the threads have necked down. If they have then it's a safe bet they are trash. Not all of the specs for the bolts are on the instructions but if you call the tech line they will give you all the details. Rule of thumb says you can reuse them 3 times but I've heard that about the OEM ones also.
