http://www.atpturbo.com/root/releases/release091004.htm Anyone had any experience with these. I put the invidia downpipe I bought from gt30 on this past Friday and need to do something about the back half of my exhaust. It sounds like crap where it goes from the 3" downpipe to the 2.25" stock catback. I was also thinking about going to a muffler shop and getting them to make a 3" straight pipe. Any thoughts/suggestions.
ive never heard of the virtual exhaust... a 3 inch straight pipe will probably be extremely loud... dunno if u care much about that... if u plan on getting an exhaust shop to make one, make sure it isn't crush bent... crush bent piping usually develops nasty kinks that become bottlenecks for the exhaust flow
So it has a dumb name but It's actually pretty nifty in concept, the butterfly valve works like a cutout except it opens offt he wastegate actuator I believe instead of by a switch.
i agree the concept sounds cool... is it new? cuz i wonder y it isnt popular... would be the ultimate sleeper
Look around on pony car websites or summit, as Mustang and Camaro guys have been running cutouts for a while. There are some fancy switch operated ones that you can get. This is the first that I've seen with a wastegate actuator being used to open and close the valve though.
Old idea, new concept. Stromung makes a 3" intermediate pipe if you're interested in just replacing that.
