So i was driving to work one day and as i was slowing down my radio just cut out and lost all power. I thought maybe it was just my Jensens time to meet his making so i replaced it with a nice pioneer unit. I had some car audio shop install it and it worked fin for about a day. Under hard braking it just stopped, like the jensen unit. Now i have no power to the unit and am continually blowing my audio fuse (15A). Here are some particulars: I have a new battery about a week old. It checks out to subarus spec. I have no after market accessories of any kind running of my ignition. Thoughts?

Check if it is the switch power or constant power that is blowing. there are many things tied into the factory fuses. It could be as simple as a bad bulb grounding out or could be as complex as a shorted wire somewhere in your car.

Sounds like it may be grounding out. Does the audio come back after awhile?

You should also take the radio out and make sure none of the speakers are grounding out.

New development, I threw a 20amp in there for the hell of it and it will work fine up until i hit the brakes. when i hit the brakes the fuse blows.

do you have a fmic? i had a problem like this before. my battery wasn't tied down properly and under heavy breaking the positive terminal would ground out on the ic pipe and blow my amps fuse. looking back im glad thats all the fuses that blew.

It wouldnt surprise me if the brake lights are tied into that fuse. Do you have a Volt meter to check if the light is grounding out or if the light is blown?
