Probably almost no one here has an automatic but I thought I would try any way.My wifes 92X trans.acts up at times. It will not engage first immediately and then catch,at times it will shift flare from one gear to another.usu,2-3 if I remember correctly. She is the one who tells me about this.she says she learned from me.She seems to like cars.any way the warranty is just about up and Saab said there is nothing wrong with it.The service writer told me there are no codes present so there is nothing wrong.I told him wrongo.Have any of you had any auto. trans issues with a similar model....?thanks..
my auto seems fine.. though sometimes it wont change for a little bit from 2-3 but other than that its alittle tough rebuilds are less than 2k i think though
usually when it will not engage into first it means that your tranny fluid is low. at least the one auto i owned thats what happened when it was low and it also would have a tough time going into the overdrive gear (4th)
but if he took it to the dealership, they presumably checked the levels. have you been able to re-create the problem yourself, or while riding with her?
Yes .but only at random. It usu.seems to take a 20 min ride or so for it to happen but then it will sometimes do it right away and then not for a long time.I am a tech. so I know how it is.If we cannot duplicate it then we cannot usu. fix it.(duh).Since it is still under warranty I think that saab should fix it.I am just not sure if they will drive it enough to feel the problem. nsvwrx..does your car feel like its stuck in second at times?Does it seem to overrev and then shift into 3rd??Since your car is very similar I am very curious.. They actually said the trans was overfull but its never been touched before..If so it was overfilled from the factory but I am sure I have checked the level before and it was ok.( I am very anal when it comes to cars)
Mine was not over full form the factory. I just had my fluid changed too My car seems like its stuck for a bit just over revs then changes.. its weird but its sort of done that all along and im running stage 2 protuned too
If they did not read the stick correctly, it'll 'read overfull' every time. Once its out of warranty I promise they'll find a problem. Happens every time. Figure out how to duplicate the problem on command. Take it in, make them ride with you to show them the problem. Just because there are no codes doesnt mean theres not a problem. I've see lots of AT issues w/no codes. The ECU cant tell you that the shift solenoids are not working or that the valve body is clogged up. Maybe in another 20 years it will be able to.
