Last night was the first night event for the Atlanta Region SCCA. My friend Jerry Hoffman, who some of you may remeber as the owner of DIYautotune.com from the SubieSport article on WJM's Megasquirted RX turbo, let me drive his 1991 1.6l Turbo Miata. That thing was a blast. i've never driven that fast in my life! Wow, what a machine! it was light weight, powerful and had a great setup. Who else was at the event last night? I knwo I saw quite a fewSubies out there.
Cosworth has a SC kit coming for the NC. It looks super clean and early reports are its an easy install. Only problem is its cosworth, so likely to be megabucks...
I've ridden in SC 1.8l Miatas of 2001 vintage and while nice, the turbo is a much better companion to the chassis
Yeah, you add some power to those things and they really move. There was a hotshoe in Nevada when I used to autoX that had a Miata with the Jackson Racing Supercharger on it. What a riot that car was. He usually set fastest time of the day over all other competitors.
I was out there, saw and heard that Miata, sounded great, Scooby_Snacks (Jack) I think placed 2nd in his class, congratulations. The course was fast and fun, and running at night is awesome. I am addicted to AutoX now, hopefully one day I will be competitive.
That was my first event at AMS, and it was great! That course was FAST and tons of fun, and I finally figured out how to make my car rotate!
