Well I thought that being on the boards for 2 years it might be time to do a journal. update in 2 years
Here's my Stage II turbo, Well I didn't have a stock TD04 for comparison because King has it, so this big EVO16G may give some idea... BNRsupercars FTW Bryan even rebuilt Cohen's EVO16G while I was there. I don't think you could ask for better customer service.
Get the anti surge compressor housing....it'll make the car drive smoother since there will be no compressor surge.
bumper beam is cut and formed. Have two gussets to weld up then test fit. It's about as bare bones as I could get
Definitely looks well put together. The PDF you sent over earlier didnt mention what type of metal you went with?
This one is made of 5052 AL, the center section is Cohens backup, and yeah this is something I do in the little freetime I have.
Make sure not to get any weld spatter on the dog when you start welding on the dining room table, they tend not to like the smell of their fur burning. Ahhh.. the days of being a bachelor. Looks really good B. +1 for BNR turbos. Bryan is an extremely approachable turbo expert.
3 seperate instances on 3 separate cars. For some reason the turbo seals keep going out on them. One is very recent. He was losing 1 qt oil every 1000 miles or so. I've been trying to help him locate it. He said WOT high boost car was smoke screening. First things first pull all IC piping and intake and check for blowby oil (forged piston block). None....dry. So I said lets go for a wild shot and put stock turbo back in.....so far ZERO smoke and at 500 miles zero oil consumption. The other 2 guys said theirs leaked into the downpipe but this recent one the exhaust side of turbo looks bone dry. Go figure. Oh and they don't make the power you think they should.....that's been confirmed over and over. Also these are the Leggy based VF turbos that are turned into 18g/20g's.
I didn't even catch that. Are you sure its ARC and not Moroso? Arent the new Morosos shipping with the "cooling fins"?
but not quite as dumb as a blond was the rest of my thought. Didn't like the depth of the 2.5 pan offerings and like the idea of cast AL over some hacked up overpriced stock pan. Got the supporting mods to go with it as well. The only down side is header options.
