Bad Axles?

I took my car to the Subi dealership in Macon about a year ago and they informed me both of my axles needed to be replaced because the boots were leaky. My 1st car was a 86 Honda CRX Si that leaky boots and I did not get the axles replaced until I could hear clicking when I was turning. That being said I took the car a year ago to a trusted auto shop that looked it over and said it looked like I have plenty of time until they need to be replaced. I am posting pictures because that shop doesn't see many Subarus, though I figure a front axle is a front axle is a front axle. Let me know if I should replace these, I think they are fine but I wanted to be sure.

umm..if ur boots are leaky wouldn't u just have to replace your cv boots and grease 'em up again?

Oh yea..in any case if u decide to replace these..make sure you get the right 04 axles.
-early 04 WRX had female style axles. Late 04-07 WRX front axles are male style (no stubs coming out of the transmission).

Yea, guess I would just need to grease & replace the boots (if I need to do anything).
Car drives great, I think the dealership wanted me to get something done b/c I used the free inspection that they mailed to me and I didn't spend a dime (they even said my 6month old breaks were old and warn ). I still think I am fine, I just want to get others ideas if that looks like excessive leaking and I should do something.

they look fine. The boots aren't torn, and I doubt they're leaking that much if at all.

Stealerships are stealerships. If you were going to replace them, get the remanufactured ones from autozone or advanced for like $80, they have lifetime warranties on them.

I have used napa and advance auto axles, and they are both fine. When I got mine the "new" ones were cheaper than the "reman" ones. Also, replacing axles is really pretty simple

WTF? If you have a problem fix your shit while it still runs and moves. Having your ass sitting on the side of the road with a broke dick car and or more damage than a simple boot replacement makes real fucking sense.

Save yourself the time and just get a set of Remans. Rebuilding them is a PITA when you can be done with remans in unser an hour. Rebuilding them will take at least an hour an axle.

Nope, no click, I think they are fine and the dealership just wanted me to replace them to get some cash.
