Bad Rear diff? Center diff?

So I need to consult with some experts before I go spend all my money on a 6spd swap LOL. If I can hold out on my 5spd for a bit longer then I will, if not, then 6spd swap it is. Here are my symptoms...

It really only happens in 4th and 5th. On any load to the transmission I get this whirling noise. The higher in RPMS I get the louder it gets. There is a certain speed and RPM where the noise will go away, but other than that it's consistent and super loud. Once off the throttle, the noise goes away. It is however starting to travel to my 3rd gear, starting to hear and get the same symptoms in 3rd gear now.

I have no issues when making turns. I don't get any unusual clunks or that sort of stuff. Now I don't know if this is a tunning issue or not, but when driving my car I get this terrible jerk. My car just starts jerks back and forth in 1st and 2nd gear. I have to full throttle for it to stop jerking in those gears. I don't know if that is a tuning issue or a transmission issue. It only happens in those gears.

Any help would be awesome, but already looking for a 6spd option in case my 5 spd can't be saved.

sounds like the center diff. I had a similar sound in my RS and that was the issue.

Not what I wanted to hear lol. If it was a bad rear diff, I could just easily replace it and drive around for a bit, but if it's my front diff, I might just upgrade to a 6 spd.

center diff is easy to replace too.

I replaced the center diff in my 5 speed. It can even be done with the tranny in the car still.

But you should still buy my 6 speed.

HAHA I'll get to you on that one =). I might set up a time so we can test drive each others cars. Want to install the 6spd for me? =)
