Ryan at Allpro contact us when he had an engine failure, he had a forged piston engine in the car already but the cylinder wall let go in an all to familar fashion. Something we have seen more of since the introduction of the 704 casting. Ryan wanted something bullet proof that he could run at the track as well as drive on the street. After several discussions on what his ultimate goals were and what kind of power he wanted to make we came up with a engine that we thought would suit his needs. What we ended up building for Ryan is our Track 1 engine package, it represents what we consider to be an incredible value for a track engine. Here are the Basic Specs Ball Racing Track 1 Short Block B.R.E.D Pistons B.R.E.D Rods King Race Bearings New Subaru OEM crank New Subaru OEM Case Bolts 12 point Oil Passage Modification Pinning of the deck to stabilize cylinder walls O-Ringed Deck (specific height designed to work with OEM MLS headgaskets) Ceramic Coating on Pistons Ball Racing Track 1 Head Package Ferrea 1mm oversize valves GSC Beehive Springs and Retainers GSC S1 Cams Track 1 Porting Package Opening Seats to accomadate +1mm valves Full Valve Job Surfacing Heads New OEM valve Stem Seals Setting Valve Lash Ceramic Coating of Combustion Chamber, Valves, and Exhaust Ports Here you can see the MLS height O-Ring and the Cylinder Stabilization Package. Our BRED Connecting rods find a home here inside a brand new OEM Subaru Crank. One of our Custom BRED pistons sitting inside the bore. Here we have an amazing shot of a perfectly honed cylinder wall. The car even looks fast sitting still. The guys at Allpro have really stepped it up with this build. Its an impressive display of what they can do and we look forward to working with them more in the future.
looking great matt, keeping you mind when i look for a built motor that can go 100k miles without failure.
Matt I do have a question about pinning the block in the manner that you have. While it is not inflammatory in any way I would be happy to pm the question if you prefer?
Feel free to PM me if you like Mike. Its less about overall strength and more about stabilizing the cylinder at the top. When we have a customer that wants to exceed what we would consider a safe limit for this setup then we recommend one of our sleeved engines. We recommend sleeving for anything over 550whp.
In the credit where credit is due department Matt shot all of the pictures at Allpro. Ill have him doing some more shoots for me as well as soon as we start getting the website sorted out.
I used the AP topfeed fuel rails and their lines. I was kind of skeptical about them at first but they actually worked just fine. The only thing that leaked was the set screw in the back of the block for an aftermarket FPR. Just cellophane taped it and it was good to go. Ball did a killer job on the motor and I couldn't be any happier with it and I'm sure those 2 people will be too. The turn around time was super quick! The motor is buttery smooth and the power curve is unreal now! Thanks to Doug over at TS for the great tune!
Lawl. Georgia vs. Ga Tech and Clemson vs. South Carolina. Do you really think I made it through those two games without drinking? Yeah, some people still have a grasp on the English language when drunk.
I think the photographs are a great touch to show the level of focus you continue to devote to your builds and your customers
I know Matto is dying to see the graph so temporarily here is my version of the dyno graph... |_____________________*____| |_________________*________|--------400 |_______________*__________| |_____________*____________|--------300 |___________*______________| -HP- |_________*________________|--------200 |_______*__________________| |_____*____________________|--------100 |___*______________________| |__*_______________________| .... 2k....3k....4k....5k....6k....7k ------------RPM------------ Pure power!
