This morning when I started my car I heard a weird noise kind of like an exhaust leak. At low speeds I can hear it but when I speed up it kind of goes away. I dont feel a difference in power with the car. The check engine light and cruise light came on so I had the code pulled. It said bank 1 o2 sensor. After some research is looks like it could be that sensor or a couple other things like a leak in the intake manifold gasket. Either way this sucks.

  2. Find weird noise first>It may be causing sensor to get incorrect data thereby tripping the fault code.

A boost leak test should find where that noise is coming from I hope. Are they expensive to get done?

Would a bad cat cause the car to sound like an old beat up honda and throw the bad o2 code?

I doubt it as the cat is post o2. Make a boost leak tester out of PVC and hook to air compressor. Regulate pressure below 15psi

Sounds like you have a huge exhaust leak pre O2 sensor.
