What: Battle of the Shops (at Import Faceoff) When: Sunday Nov 13 th , 2005 Where: Montgomery Motorsports Park ( Montgomery , AL ) Info: www.battleoftheshops.com or www.importfaceoff.com Battle of the Shops, is being held in conjunction with Import Faceoff. This fast pace ¼ mile drag racing event is a great opportunity for shops to show off what you do best. We have two different classes designed to encompass all shops and to level out the playing field. Each shop is required to bring 2 cars to run, the cars must fit into one of the classes we have designed (class info), and only one 6 cylinder per shop. What do you get for attending? Each shop will get to run both cars together and be announced who they are & what they do. Shop will be competing for thousands in cash prizes. The shop with the best average ¼ mile (average of top runs from both cars) will be overall winner of Battle of the Shops and will receive $500 cash prize on top of any other cash winnings from the event. Yeah, its going to be sick. Keep in mind that its really hard to make rules for an event like this and make it fair to everyone. Paul is working very hard to ensure that it is as fair as possible. No matter who wins its going to be a great showcase of whats out there. Matt
I just don't see the point for Battle of the Shops. Who cares what their shop cars can do. Just because your shop car is fast doesn't mean you're a good shop. I'm sorry but who ever wins this contest doesn't change what shop I support or go too. What a waste of time......
yeah... but i would rather see a "battle of the chops", i can see it now, porkchops dressed in full samurai regalia... now THAT would be cool.
hmm, now that I quit my job I should be able to make it. Count me in, hopefully I'll have a surprise on my car (or rather off it) by then.
Skills? I don't give a crap about a shops driving skills. The only thing that matters if they can build fast cars or not. How their customers feel after a job is done. So running down a straight track doesn't mean a thing to me. I'm not going to change shops just because a shop runs a better time.......trust me there will be drama from this.
an average driver with a good car can almost always out accelerate a good driver with an average or below average car. and they will be showcasing their cars up close, so this is all really just an advertising awareness event.

Anyone can build a fast car. Still won't change my mind where I go to get work done. Cause I don't trust many shops anymore. After what my friend went through with a local shop.
I have to disagree with your first statement. If youre happy going where you go then thats cool. I dont think anyone on this board is making a huge push for youre business. I dont trust many shops either, and there is only one that I would even consider taking my Supra to much less my other cars. But everyone on this board knows who my loyalty is with. I hope your friend has found a shop he is happy with. Matt
I will be there! This is going to be awesome! I would really like to see which shop has the fastest car! But remember this is Import Faceoff, not just Battle of the Shops! So I am going to support any import race, show or event!
