depends on what you're shooting for really... just about anything is an improvement over the stock wrx cat-back. blitz perrin stromung prodrive the list goes on, but those are my preferences.
how about the cobb catback? the dp is way expensive but i've heard sound clips of the full tbe and i like how its not super loud.
Prodrive probably has the best overall sound for a daily driver. Blitz is an awesome sound but freaky loud without the baffle in (with the baffle in, the car really chokes, power wise.) The Stromungs are nice and come in a wider variety than the Prodrive and the TXS are a loud exhaust with a decent sound as well. The Borla exhaust lineup is nice, but a bit on the expensive side, a little rarer on the WRX as well. As a side note, you can usually find a used exhaust in great condition for far less then it would cost you new. Look on here and NASIOC...
most catbacks should give u similar gains unless ur running really high boost... if u have big plans for ur car and wanna buy a catback that u plan to stick with, get something that has a 3 inch diameter... otherwise, make ur decision based on which one u think sounds the best... i have a blitz nur spec-r (supposed to be 3.1 inch)... i love it... its very loud so its not for everyone... i'd recommend u make it down to the dyno day and listen to different exhausts before u decide which one to buy
I've heard rolling_trip's Perrin and it sounds great. If you like less db's then the ScoobySport sounds good too. Low rumble at low rpm's and then group N sound at high revs. I like mine. you can buy em' used on nasioc, but good luck buying new.
I really like my APS. It's quiet enough to still have a conversation unless you're going 80+mph. Sounds great and great quality.
^^^^^ word, got the same set-up. i agree with milo, come to a dyno day or a g2g and take a listen to the different set-ups. -drums
As far as quality goes, I have heard several complaings about TurboXS welds. Perrin, B&B, Prodrive, Cobb all have great quality and it all depends on what you want: dual tip or single tip, 2.5" or 3" piping, and sound. If you know the look you want then you can easily narrow down the field to what you're willing to buy. Just make sure it's all 304 stainless including the flanges to prevent rusting from the heat and exhaust. Happy Hunting!
sorry, yeah cobb does excellent work on their parts. i would imagine anything vishnu has got out would be worth the money as well.
You could save money and buy a STi catback, not 100% the gains of a pure aftermarket, but its classy STi Its straight through 2.5".
Cobb sounds the best, IMHO. But it is teh $$$ though. For some reason that one beergoggles site with all the exhaust clips is down. And they added a random wierd guy... http://64.233.187.104/search?q=cach...%20Exhaust/?N=A+beergoggles+wrx+exhaust&hl=en
haha chris well i have that GP moto and its just nothing compared to the perrin. PERRIN just roars down the road and it look stock at the same time.
i have the helix downpipe... its a good piece and decently priced... i guess their other parts should be of good quality too
well, fact that i have a Wife, i just know him.. Now BigB on the other may "know him" Batter up ...... oh no look switch hitter
http://gruppe-s.com/Subaru/PowerPackages.htm They are willing to give me the power package with the catted DP for 949.. a good deal?
Honestly that's the best deal out there. The only other cheaper options would be megan racing, used, or ebay for a full turboback... edit: Also the turboxs stealth back with your chioce of axleback/muffler. That would probably be the best deal.
