Hey guys, I'm relatively new to the Atl area and in need for some new tires. These will be for my daily driven 06 STI with stockers 225/45/17. I was thinking of some SPT's or something in this price range. My question is the following: what are the best local places pricewise and mounting/balancing services etc? Does anyone really compete with tirerack?

Thanks in advance for the help!

most places I know will compete with tire rack if you tell them the price of the tire you want from tire rack. Sometimes showing them the price (printout or through smartphone) will satisfy their need to verify.

I've also been able to haggle pricing on tires from Firestone. Got a set of RE-11's for under the going rate from Tire Rack.

Gran Turismo East is one of the better tire shops in the city. I recommend going to them as well

Granturismo is not the cheapest but they are the best. Keiran came pretty close to tirerack's prices for tires on my wife's minivan. The service he gave me was well worth the extra few dollars. Also, you can't just compare the tire prices. You have to look at the bottom line with mouting, balancing, shop fees, taxes, disposal fees, etc.

forget tirerack....if u really want the cheapest prices...especially in regards to shipping and no tax, go to www.tires-easy.com

the site does look a bit primitive, but the service was excellent and i got my tires in a 3 days. i think they're based out of germany or something with warehouse location all over the US
