It tried to get me, but I escaped. Here's another dumbass atlanta driver story.

Going to work Thursday morning on Roswell Rd southbound a little past the river. I was at the front of a large pack leaving a stop light and we were doing about 55. It's straight there with good visibility so it shouldn't have been a problem. No rain, daylight out, etc. There's some cars turning left from the other direction, but I'm still a ways away. As I get quite close a lexus starts across (who should have waited) but it's not a problem since it pulls out quick.

But then IT STOPS right in my lane setting me up to hit the front passenger side. Dead stopped blocking my lane. :eek3: No room to the right and it's big ass taking up part of the left lane. If I'd just hit the brakes there'd be 1 less lexus and sti on the road for sure. I swerved to the left (thank goodness no cars were to the left of me) and barely squeeked by. As I looked in my rear view mirror a sec later it was still sitting there. I didn't even get to beep. It moved onto the side road a couple secs later.

I have no idea still why they stopped. Here's my guesses.

1- Someone was trying to commit suicide at my expense.
2- Their lease was almost over and they were over on miles.
3- Deer in the headlights syndrome. See stupid squirrels.
4- STi fan who wanted to test me.
    5- Engine died.
6- They are the grim reaper trying to get me.

Watch out in case it was #4.

Unfortunately, there are bad drivers in every state, and they drive all types of cars. You always have to be on the defensive. I guess we all have our faults, and nobody is perfect. I think the worst drivers I have seen are in the MD/DC area. They drive really crazy up there. At least these drivers use there signal down here. I am glad that you are OK Brian. I wonder if the car just died....

yeah people who pullout and then either stop there or go very slowly piss the bleep outta me

in fact on friday as we were turning out of my nhood my friend in his camry pulls out and i say "dude, theres a car coming fast...go go GO!"

this kid just responds "screw it, that motherbleeper can slow the bleep down"

that makes me hate people especially people that the first time they drove a car was your car and then they drive like anuses, theres always gonna be bad drivers, the only thing that you can do is always have great brakes and good tires but most importantly, enough power to get you out of a bad situation (aha) and just be aware of everything around you

I'd have to disagree with you Mark, I have found that some of the worst drivers *I* have ever had the displeasure of seeing are here. They will cut you off just to turn right when there is no one behind you for miles, turn signals no one knows what those are, they go straight in turn lanes, STOP while merging onto the interstate (that bugs the CRAP out of me) DON'T get me started if it is raining or the road is ever so slightly damp.
A few weeks ago I'm leaving Town Center Mall trying to get onto 75 to head back here to Marietta, I'm in the lane that I guess merges into the other lane to form the single lane merging onto 75. Well this dickbag in a white truck decides that he doesn't want to let me in and attempts to block me so I cannot merge. I'm in the 240 so I floor it and cut over just in time to avoid me being shoved into the shoulder. Well dickbag didn't like that so he beams me and rides my butt for about a 1/2 mile, till I brake check the crap out of him just before the highway to almost a complete stop. Needless to say we didn't see him anymore.

Was that a dickmove on my part...yes however fully deserved in my opinion.

Word. Last weekend I had to drive from Atlanta to Neward, Delaware with my little sister so she could go back to school. The drive was perfect until we got into the metro DC area and then I had 3 close calls.

Yes, I agree with that...They do drive either too fast or too slow here, whereas in the DC/MD/VA area, it is mostly fast with hardly any signals. We moved there in 1964 and I started seeing the real influx of people in the late 70's, and then they finally decided to expand 495 and 95. I agree with you too GTScoob, there are a lot of crazy drivers right in DC, but I think that most people up there are always on the defensive....

    Just my 2 cents....Mark

I am noticing down here in O-town that they drive pretty damn good. There is soooo much traffic on I-4 though.
