So I never did a journal back when I had my Saab 9-2x. Figured now that I picked up my Outback, I should start one. After selling the Saab to help pay off all my debt, I decided to go with a cheaper, paid for car. I picked up this 1998 Outback a few months ago. Car is in nice overall condition with leather interior and a 5-speed. It has over 170K miles but runs good. The car came with a decent stereo system, including a pair of 10" RF subs and Alpine Amp. The first mod the car received was a short throw shifter. The stock shifter was about 2 feet tall. The short shifter made the car way more fun to drive. Here is a pic of the car as I got it. To make the car a little more fun, I collected a bunch of used parts and set about lowering it. I replaced the suspension with 04+ WRX factory struts and tophats along with a set of Eibach lowering springs. I then mounted up a set of 06 17" WRX wheels painted in Gunmetal. It has been raining for days but here is a quick pic as it sits now. I am still undecided on what I will do with the car for performance.
Since it finally stopped raining, I cleaned it up and then took a few more pics of the OB. I'm still really torn on what to do with the motor. It is getting tired at over 170K miles. Turbo or refreshed N/A???
Swap that B! Ha. For real though-I just got done doing an STi swap in my RS, and it's like driving a new car. I can't stop. I find myself taking the long way...everywhere. I thought about rebuilding my spun bearing 2.5, but then after totaling parts, and time, (doing everything myself) I concluded that it wasn't worth it. I knew it would have been cheaper, but I'm soso glad I did the swap. So in short-swap it! Just my two cents...:wavey:
Swap that bish. maybe a h22, or b16, or d series, or even better, a k-series swap. N/A all the way, honda respect.
