blow through maf?

    I'm just guessing really but I think the effect of a blow through maf is different and for different purposes than a draw through system. IE setting different parameters for the ECU.

    But don't take my word for it. I'm just posting this to see if I'm right or not and to illustrate the differences in the two, if any that is.

    i found some good threads on it on iwsti.com and topspeed is in them alot. so maybe doug or trey will chime in on it. im trying to go ahead and get everything for my next tune. last was 319/299 (i think that is right) but ive now installed hks headers i got from drew, made a custom 2.5in turbo inlet that is metal, ordering a meth kit soon and if everything goes perfect maybe a little head work or jdm heads to rev a little higher b/f i go to the dyno and try to see what i can pump out of the little 2ltr

    yeah, people over on iwsti seem to like them alot.
    requires a tune, but if you're already getting a retune,
    I think it'd be worth spending the extra $70.

    Yeah all that does is trick your ecu to thinking that the mass air flow correct to the values to ecu. If you want to have your car speed density tuned go ahead. But even knowing that im running the aem ems i still want to run a map that uses the maf.
     
  7. I had one for my DSM. They are good for reading the actual airflow going directly into your throttle body. If you have an aftermarket blow-off valve that vents to atmosphere, then this would be for you because it would no longer need to read the blowoff air.
    Also, they are useful for tuning when you have an aftermarket intercooler because the cooler air is denser after going through the IC, so the ecu can take advantage of that with a good tune.

    EDIT: That is from a DSM point of view. I am not sure if the WRX is the same.
