i saw somewhere online a place to order the materials to put a body kit on, but i can't remember where. i know that there is more involved in just using double sided tape like applying another adhesive to the car and then putting the tape onto that applicant. anyone ever done an entire body kit swap on their own before? i would like to do it myself instead of taking it to a shop if at all possible.
Well, if you are just putting it on, mostly just a good socket set, some ramps and time, lol. It depends on the kit. I would definitely consider upgrading the double sided tape though if it is a taped on kit. With my wife's Mutang we got some 3M heavy duty tape from a body shop...not sure of the specs, but it has held on her window scoops up to 125 mph (at a track of course ) and was recommended by the shop that we had them painted at. The guy actually gave us the stuff for free and said the stuff that comes with a lot of the kits is crap and tends to fail. Just my experience.
