Its my first post here! So i am stumped with my brake problem i have. I put on goodyear stainless lines and bled them according to the manual. the pedal was incredibly soft and sketchy to drive. I gave up took it to a shop and had them pressure bleed it. the pedal is better now but still wierd i push the brake pedal once it goes halfway down, the the second time it feels fine. is there still air in my system even after a pressure bleed?
I bled my brakes for the first time recently. I have heard that other cars follow a different bleed order so make sure that you or the shop follows the correct order: 1. Right Front 2. Left Rear 3. Left Front 4. Right Rear And keep the master cylinder topped off, if you let the level get low you might suck air into the system;then you will have to re-bleed to make sure all the air gets out. I don't know about this "pressure bleed" from a shop...I used foot pressure and it worked just fine.
I did the right order the second time after i realized subies have a wierd bleeding pattern. I managed to make it a three person job one pushing the pedal one watching the master cylinder and one doing the bleeding so the master cylinder didn't get low. Thanks for the response
