Just thought I would give some props to brembo. Finally got all 4 rotors on with just regular Autozone duralast ceramic pads and the difference is quite noticeable over factory rotors with similar pads. This thing really brakes now! Soon to add the stainless braided hoses and new fluid for the finishing touch.
wait till you put you some real pads then it will stop like you hit a brick wall. ferodos, or even some hawk race pads.
Have not really put too many miles on there just yet, so not too sure about the brake dust. As for the pads I am also looking at the new ones by NAPA called Adaptive one pads. They are some supposedly Nascar inspired pad that is ceramic with some of the properties of semi-metallic.
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=932610 That is where I got them...$325 for all 4 but it took FOREVER to get the fronts...like 4 months. I guess Brembo was backordered on them.
I had some ceramics before, EBC greenstuff. They are great for keeping your wheels somewhat clean. Do you know what the upper temp limit is on these pads? Let us know how they perform, and have you run any other pad before?
I bought the Autozone Duralast pads once for the STi, after I destroyed the pads at an autoX event. They are horrible. I bedded them in and could make them fade with 3 stops. They also have worse initial bite than the stock pads.
I noticed my ebc ceramics didn't have as high of an upper temp limit as the hawks. This was surprising since ceramic is a semi-conductor. I figured it would have been the opposite.
Yup same ones I have, but have not been tracking them, just street driving for now. But I swear the combination has much better initial bite than the factory rotors and whatever pads the previous owner had on there.
