damn it. right after i get my car fixed from hitting the pole, and getting the sti axle back, my car stops running properly... I thought the shop i went to didnt fix everything properly, but it seems like it was a bolt in the alternator that was broken which made my timing belt really lose, causing the power steering to not work properly. BTW, the shop owner was cursing at how stupid it was to make the alternator bolt so long, because that bolt is holding up the timing belt, and it should be shorter to withstand more pressure. what do you guys think about this? will i have any more problems that i need to watch out for in the future? my car has 83K miles now. i guess i have been a little too harsh on my car after i was really excited with the new muffler ( it sounds DAMN good though haha). funny how a silver bugeye passed by when i was getting my car towed. it was at the QT on Boggs Rd.
yup. mine is the midnight black wrx. BTW, you`re not the one i didnt wave at last time on Peachtree Ind are you? does your car have moretts on them?
I don't have morrettes, I have JUN eyelids though....I've seen the morette guy the other day and he didn't waved back either....no love...I didn't see your car on the tow truck, but I turned there to go to work this afternoon...
thanks man....I wish I would have stopped at that QT, I almost did but decided to stop at the next on on PIB...I had just come from SOG and lunch with Marky Mark (06silverbullet)...
Just curious...how does a bolt from an alternator hold up the timing belt? Is it the same bolt that holds the idler pulley or something? This just does not sound right at all.
yeah...mark was in the area so, I figured might as well get a bite to eat...he lives in Kennesaw so it's kind of a drive for him...we had a couple gwinnett lunch g2g's in the past....we should start it back up for some of the newer/older guys to meet-up....
heh, i dunno exactly what the guy said, but i do know that a bolt about 2 1/2-3" long snapped in half, and it came from the alternator.. the guy was talking about it holding up the timing belt and whatnot, but i guess he was confused.
