So I come walking down to the car this afternoon and just as I get to the car I think to myself...self...you a fool for leaving the pass. window down. I then open the drivers door and found the pass. window in the pass. seat.........:unamused:

Looks as though the worthless ass peice of boo boo broke my window and then proceeded to lean in and try to pry out my radio with a flathead....Hey you dumbazz it held in with screws!!!!! :slap:

I think someone must have spooked them because after breaking my window and then tearing up my radio they left without taking ANYTHING!...my wallet, radar detector, Ipod, cds, ect were all just as I left them...Thank God!

I will post up some pictures once I get them from King.

I HATE worthless punk ass jerks like this!!! They are breathing our air, drinking our water, and taking up perfectly good space!!!:mad::asshole:

I was out smoking when i saw my dome light come on and a silhouette in the window. chased him across the yard and about got his collar but my no shoes vs. his shoes wins. I have a lot of family and friends that live in the area and pieces of shit are always breaking into cars around here. wouldnt mind setting up some type of sting operation is anyone is down.

Times are tough right now and people are desperate. Whoever did this was an amateur because based on what you are saying your: wallet, radar detector, Ipod, etc were all in your car and you apparently do not have an alarm!....DUDE!.....be careful don't leave that shit in your car, that is like Christmas to a "crack head". Sorry to hear about it though. Might also be somebody who works in the building? Seems like a good neighborhood.

But sorry to hear a worthless thief broke in to your vehicle and broke your radio.

+1 on leaving stuff. I don't leave jack out for people to see. Convertible tops are expensive and don't like blades to them. People no jobs so people are going and doing irrational things to get money.

Damn Alex that just suck ass! I too had that happen to me years ago and they cleaned me out full stereo, all cd's, radar, gortex jacket, sub, but the dumb fuck left my $1200 set of golf clubs...the most expensive thing in the car. Thank god home owners ins took care of it.

proximity alarm FTW. as soon as the glass went flying alarm sounds.

I have been broken into also, and had my stereo stolen. It left me feeling completely violated. One of the worst feelings I have ever felt. Nothing worse than walking out to your car at the end of the day and finding a window smashed and things missing. Glad they didn't get anything in your case FACE.

I agree with Rick, a decent Aftermarket Alarm with a dual zone Microwave sensor is the way to go. Set the first stage a little wider than it needs to be so that if anyone even steps within a foot or two of your car, and they get the warning chirp telling them to back off. Set the second stage to a bubble just in the interior, so that if you were to leave your windows open one day, and someone was not deterred by the warning chirp, the second they reach their hand through the open window, the alarm starts going off. Tap your alarm to the Hellas and you are good to go.

The only thing I don't like about alarms that sensitive is they ALWAYS go off, especially in decks. At Tech we had this one POS civic w/ an alarm like that in the deck, everytime I drove by in my mustang the exhaust would set it off...it was irritating as hell. When they're that sensitive and everybody knows it, they tend to ignore them when they go off...at least we always did

  18. FTZ

Microwave sensor should not be triggered by a passing car. The only way to trigger a Microwave sensor is to break the bubble it forms around the car. What you are talking about is when someone sets an impact or glass break sensor to sensitive. Just brush against the car and the alarm goes off.

I do agree though that if the alarm is triggered too often, people tend to ignore it. Heck even an alarm that is rarely set off does little any more. Most people think that some idiot doesn't know how to work their alarm and doesn't pay much attention to the wailing. I don't when I am in a parking lot and here an alarm going off.

In the same vein Alex, I took my Echo (ya the POS car) to park tavern, parked it next to a friend's car. There is nothing in the car, no tint either. Some a*hole decides to break my window and get in anyways, in the middle of broad daylight at a park. So it costs me $100 to get it fixed and just headache. That car isn't worth breaking into for anything.

Sorry to hear that happened to ya man. I'm sure it's not worth claiming it with insurence since it's usually lower than deductible.

that really sucks. yesterday was a bad day for 08 STi's. :(

I'll run security on your car :p

every single one of my cars that I've owned has been broken into at some point. Even my RS WITH Viper alarm. I'm still baffled as to how the thieving pieces of shit got into the RS....oh yeah, it was in FRONT OF MY HOUSE TOO!

Idon't leave anything of value in the car, and I generally leave the doors unlocked at night. If someone wants to get into my car, let them. I would rather them open my unlocked door, than to break a window.

The only think I have in the car at the moment that can be easily taken is the keyboard on the passenger seat, and a USB drive in the glove box. Aside from that, they may find some loose change, and some crumpled up ATM receipts, but not much else.

That sucks dude, I know how it goes. About 2 years ago some fuckass broke my rear drivers side window and took my (luckily empty) laptop bag.

Biggest pain in the ass was getting that damn window replaced...and there is still some broken glass in the door that rattles when you open/close it

yeah I am truly thankful that SOK is taking care of me now. I have to wait for the adjuster from my INS company to go out and assess damages. Should be by next wed. And then I hope to have the car back in a few weeks...

    This shit sucks...

    Weeks!?!?!

Do they have to order the trim and glass from Japan or something?

  33. Matt

Matt Think before you post Staff Member Supporting Member

most of that is likely the insurance company going to take their sweet sorry ass time in getting it done...then to have the parts ordered and installed.

It's already friday, and the adjuster won't be in til weds....which means it will be around friday next week before they give the money/go ahead to SoK to order the parts and then have King install them around all his other stuff he may/may not be working on at the time..

so yea, weeks sounds about right. :unamused:

Man, no good. I got my car and house broken into...first the house, then the car. Even out here inthe sticks it can happen. Luckily a 100 lb rottweiler is a good deterrent for the house. They did get $5000 worth of tools from the storage in my garage though. But the car, they ended up getting around $1200 worth of stereo, bag, misc items, cds, etc. I now have a camera system on my house and security lights, the rottweiler and several large caliber guns :)

sorry to hear that man, well i know how you feel, since my car was broken into 3 times within a year and i live in a gated community (2 gates before can get to my car) and they broke those gates too :(, the last time they broke in i even had a pager alarm system, i ran down and saw those low life people, that is if i can even call them people. they didnt take anything because of the alarm, but they F up the part that holds the radio and around that part pretty bad, and had to order some parts to be replaced.
