So I know on some cars you can disconnect the solenoid to have the butterfly valves remain open. Can this be done on the WRX also, or do you have to go all the way and remove them? I am not pushing big power, but I get a lot of bounce in my boost needle and I don't always get the best low end response. Thanks for any help.

This might not help but as I recall,...on my 93 prelude si, it had a butterfly vavle in the intake runners, this actually helped lowend a lot by creating turbulence that helped mix the fuel and air more at low intake speeds/rpms. I did the mod to leave them open all the time but it actually just hurt low end. Not sure how these butterly valves are utilized in the wrx either...something similar maybe.
