Maybe it's just me because I get shocked A LOT. I swear to god everytime I get out of the car I get shocked when i close the door. And if someone touches me when i'm in the car i get shocked. Maybe it's because i don't have leather. This doesn't just happen with my car though, at the mall when i have to open a push door i always push on the glass so that the little metal bars dont shock me haha. Anyone else get shocked a lot? and fleece hates me.
i would also like to note that if you are getting shocked alot getting in and out of your car, be care of getting in an out of your car while fueling!
There was actually one occasion where it didn't happen to me.... sometime last week. But yeah that ish is like never-ending.
It happens to me everytime to. I know touch the car with my hand inside my fleece or long sleeve shirt LOL
I'm terrified of opening doors during the winter, I approach with caution. Hey, they actually make a little anti-static thingy to put on your door panel. You just rub it when you get out. I wish I could remember where I had seen it...oh well.
its just like office space with the door.. im also terrified to get out of my car.. whats so terrible is i know its gonna happen... im so scared.
yall need to get those jdm anti-shock pads that fit to the drivers door. from what ive herd they work pretty good.
its actually your tires that causes it. The dryer air of the winter just makes it more noticeable. Bascially the compounds they use to make your tire can build up static electricity which gets transferd to you and then you release the spark. My dad actually found out this did work when he replaced his tires with new ones and now he doesn't get shocked as much.
I've seen those chain things you hang on the exhaust which drags on the road when you are driving which discharges all the electric charges... Looks pretty ghetto though
I'm here to help.. Heard of wallmart??? get a small bottle of anti-static spary rub it on ur hands once or twice a day and done.. wont shock you the rest of the day.. if u wash ur hands it will go away and u will get shocked again.. the bottle cost $$99cents$$ cheap and good.. they always be there near the counter where u take out.. i was getting shocked everyday everytime i touch anything metal or plastic combined with metal now no shocks.. thanks anti-static spray
check on ebay for the jdm oem anti-static pad. i have one, you touch it before you get out of the car and no-shocker
That why some people bring their pets along for the car ride so that they can use them to push open the door. and after that its a chick magnet
I remember learning in physics that one factor is also the air. In the winter and cooler seasons here, it's dryer outside which will make a bigger shock. Once summer comes and it's more humid, it'll be less of to none of a shock.
Wow I love this place not only do we get detailed descriptions of what is wrong with our cars... we get detailed information about usles things as well we will all be quite the trivia players
Alas, I still could only answer like 1-3 questions at Sidelines when we were doing trivia there :keke:
it's a problem so common with subarus that the manufacturer has a solution. check out http://www.japanparts.com/db/partslist.php i know it's on there somewhere it's a pad with a small wire runing into the widow seal for each door. it's a subaru oem part that keeps the car from shocking you.
WARNING:- If you drive a subaru, u have to be powerful enuff to handle the pain of static shock it throw at you. If you can't, give your car to someone more powerful and healthy. For FREE!! OF COURSE. Maybe 500? 1000.00 DEAL!!! LOL
I wonder if this has anything to do with the interference I get in my speakers? I have a carPC and I am getting nasty interference sounds like a buzzing in the speakers that it is driving me insane.
