I don't know why but my one thing i would like to do to the appearance is a carbon fiber hood. my question was is there one where i can put my stock sti scoop on while the rest be carbon fiber. I always thought that would look really good.

yea most of them you can swap the hood scoops since they are 2 different pieces

    Yes very hot.

Make sure your CF hood is clear coated well or it'll fade like crazy after a while.

You do know that carbon fiber hoods for STi's & WRX's are heavier than the stock one? Not a big deal if you don't participate in any motor sports competition...just thought you should know.

    ...to each his own... ;)

How much does the stock hood weigh compared to the carbon fiber hoods? Not like i was doing this for much of an upgrade in performance but i didn't think a carbon fiber hood could be heavier...

Cause our stock hoods are aluminum. Open the hood of a Civic and you'll see it's like three times as heavy!!

Or open my hood and it's 4 times heavier....RS hoods are steel and very heavy.

Yeah, the OEM STi hood is alot lighter. Carbon Fiber hoods are really fiberglass with a few layers of CF on the top = heavy.

I don't know the exact weight but I have felt a few side by side and the stock was always lighter.

they are typically only about 3-4 pounds heavier. NOT that big a deal, but still heavier than stock. I'd look into painting the stock hood black, leaving the scoop painted. Someone needs to come up with a paint that looks identical to real CF. That would rock
