Cathy has this code on her 1997 2.2L SOHC manual L wagon.

according to the guys at pepboys and advance - "Manufacturer Control Fuel Air Metering" according to another http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=736399&highlight=engine+code+p1100 thread and Alex this code means "Starter switch circuit malfunction"

I'm leaning towards the starter, because it had been giving us problems recently anyway.

Where can I find this starter switch? Is it in the stater itself or somewhere else?

I am not sure but I have parked my 98L for the swap so if you need parts let me know.

Rick, I'm going to find out if the starters are the same from your 98L to my 97L, if so, could I swing by and see if it will solve the problem? If so, I'll buy the part from you

Fortunately, these starters are VERY easy to remove and replace.
