Soooo I got a highflow cat put in. And I got a CEL. When i put on the cat I also got the GPMoto CEL fix but that didn't work. I'm about to try the PEP MIL eliminator next. Anyone else having this problem? And what are people doing to get around it? On the N/A motors the CEL is causing the ECU to run super rich and KILL my gas mileage and performance. HELP!!

Try the mechanical CEL fix. It's a couple of spark plug spacers that pull the 02 sensor far enough out of the exhaust stream to keep from triggering the CEL.

I've got the GPmotor spark plug spacer. That didn't help much. Maybe another one ontop of that to space it out more? If not I'm gonna try that wire in cel fix.

If you have to do OBDII emissions most of the splice-in CEL fixes will trigger some sort of "emissions system not ready" code that will show up when doing an emissions scan.

I'm not familiar with the GPmoto cel fix but I had the cheap $5 spark plug defoulers. I drilled out one and then screwed both together, the whole thing was probably 2" long. I never used it since I got Ecutek but I gave it to Scuby Drew and it's working on his car.

The GPMoto is basically the same thing as the spark plug defouler but it's not a ghetto hack job hehe
After a few hours of playing with it I think I might have fixed it. I painted my catpipe with hightemp ceramic paint. It made the temperatures a lil bit higher for the first o2 sensor and when I cleared the CEL a different code popped up. So YAY no more PO420. I just have to replace the rear o2 sensor.

I took the car out for doing chores today and went all over atlanta and noticed improved mpg. So hopefully once I get some cash for a new sensor I'll have no more codes and one less light on my dashboard.

I wish I could have ECUtek'd it off like everyone though. Would he been a lot easier

How much was the GPmoto spacer? I think some other vendor online was making their own and selling them for something ridiculous like $25, that's $20 profit if they just kept buying them from autozone and drilling them themselves.

Good to hear the CEL worked itself out.

yeah I bought a cel fix off of ebay for like $10 and it spaced the 02 censor from the down pipe......I guess that's the same as your GP moto one? cause when i went catless i threw a "420" code.....put on the cel fix and now I've never had any problems...

thats what happens when you have no cats. i throw one everyday.

  15. He purchased it from me and I gave him a deal with Kartboy exhaust hangers. Definately less than $20. Also it was the actual GP Moto spacer, not made by Sakari. ;)

calmnothing, glad it's working for you now! :)

I've got a Perrin 02 simulator if you want to try and wire it up. I took it off my car when I Ecutekked the car. I dont have the directions anymore but if you can find some online and want it I'll be down around Tech all week.

It involves splicing into the wiring harness above the transmission in the engine bay. It didnt work for a couple of weeks when I used it and then one day the CEL disappeared.

I think I may have access to some RS ecu flashing capabilities. Gonna try that route.
